HW due Monday 4/21: read pgs 403-407. Complete “Activity: Creating a Map” on pg 407. Major quiz grade for this assignment.

Tues, March 25

In class, students created trifold travel brochures advertising 4 reasons to travel to the New World (absent students not responsible). HW: Complete brochure if not finished; reag pgs 389-393. Complete Taking Notes concept web on pg 389. Magazine missing for Makenzie, Ike, Livia, Kris, & Gavin... must be submitted in finished form ASAP!

Mon, March 24

In class, students viewed an A&E Biography of Columbus. There is no homework.

Thurs, March 20th

In class, students worked in groups compiling their individual columns into single magazines. Magazines (stapled, with a cover) are due in my mailbox by Friday afternoon.

HW for Mon: Complete quiz corrections (if necessary).

Tues, March 18th

In class, students performed skits on explorers and conducted research. HW for Thursday: complete a 2-3 paragraph (1 page at most) gossip column on your assigned historical figure. Typed, double-spaced. Be creative but also be historical!

Monday, March 17

HW due Tues: have skits ready for beginning of class; read pgs 386-388, complete Assessment #3-5 on pg 388.

Thurs, March 13th

In class, students took notes on an introduction to the Age of Discovery. Then they created a posted on their impressions of Christopher Columbus prior to completing any current reading on him.

HW due Monday: Finish poster (if needed). Read text 364-368; Taking Notes chart pg 364, Biography on pg 365, & Primary Source on pg 368.

For VT Cup athletes, HW due Tues: read pgs 386-388, complete Assessment #3-5 on pg 388.

Thurs, March 6

Complete quiz in mailbox and submit before Sunday evening.

There is no class & no homework for Mon & Tues March 10 & 11. Class will resume on Thurs, March 13th.
